Nominate a Deserving Teacher for $250 in School Supplies & $250 in Bitcoin from Lolli

Did you know 94 percent of public school teachers in the United States reported paying for supplies without reimbursement? According to a federal Department of Education survey released in May 2018, this is in fact a reality for most educators.

It made little difference whether they taught in cities, suburbs or rural areas, or whether or not their students were poor — virtually every public school teacher said they had used their own money for their classrooms.

According to a New York Times article published last year, the teachers who reported spending their own money on supplies shelled out $479 each on average. Seven percent reported spending more than $1,000.

Today, Lolli announced its commitment to teachers and the education of bitcoin by granting three deserving teachers $250 towards school supplies and $250 in bitcoin for personal use.

CEO and Co-founder of Lolli Alex Adelman said:

“I greatly respect and admire our educators for their devotion to their students, often paying for school supplies out of their own pocket. Lolli is looking for three inspiring teachers to give $250 in school supplies and $250 in bitcoin for the 2019 school year. I believe bitcoin will empower the next generation of both students and teachers. It's important to help our educators and begin the conversation around the future of money with their students.”
